Experienced Remedial Surveyors
Signs of damp can include bubbling or crumbling plaster, tide marks that run horizontally across the wall at low level, rotting skirting-boards or white/grey salts on the surface of the plaster.
At Pass & Co. our surveyors are experienced in carrying out extensive damp proofing & timber inspections for all types of properties. Over many years we have surveyed a broad range of properties, including residential and commercial buildings, as well as listed and historic properties.
For most damp issues, a surveyor will visit your property at a mutually convenient time, in order to provide you with a free written report for any evidence of damp and/or timber defects, such as rising damp, penetrating damp, wet rot or dry rot as appropriate. During our visit (unless otherwise requested), the surveyor will also examine the outside of the property (if appropriate), to check for any exterior defects that may effect internal moisture levels, such as high ground levels, leaking/blocked guttering or faulty down-pipes.
There may be a small charge for inspections where condensation/mould is a problem in newer properties (post 1950’s). Please contact our office for information and advice.
Internally, our surveyor will carefully check all accessible walls for dampness (unless otherwise instructed) and where possible, examine exposed timbers that have been in contact with damp walls.
We will produce a free comprehensive written report of our findings, and provide an estimate and sketch plan for any remedial work that would be required within the property.
